Set Path

Menu Location: Settings - Backup Settings - Set Path

Used to adjust the path to programs used by the Video Surveillance WebCam Software ie Media Player, Browser, or Text Editor. If the Program cannot find the file, you can tell the Video Surveillance WebCam Software which program to use and where it is located.

Place a check mark beside the item to use the custom path you specified in the edit field right below it. No check mark means Program uses its internal default settings.

Path for Media Player

This parameter can be set by the user, to tell the program where to look for the Media Player which is used to play the captured video files when the user selects menu item File, Review Video.

Example of proper entries are like the following:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe
C:\Program Files\Real\RealPlayer\realplay.exe

Microsoft Media Player is recommended for most versatility.

Older systems may need path C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe eg Windows 98, NT4.0.

To find the correct path name like the ones above use Windows Explorer to browse around your directories to find file names like the ones above. Enter the path name, test it by selecting menu item File, Review Video (select video file), if it works then Save Configuration.

Path for Text Editor

Notepad.exe is recommended. It is usually located in c:\windows\notepad.exe.

Path for Browser

Recommend use Windows Internet Explorer. Path is usually c:\program files\internet explorer\iexplore.exe. For Windows NT4 it might be c:\Program Files\Plus!\Microsoft Internet\iexplore.exe.
