Monitor Mode Scanning

Monitor Mode Scanning parameters appear on the Admin web page under the heading, Monitor Mode Scanning. Monitor Mode Scanning parameters allow the user to enable Video Monitoring Software to switch between cameras as it looks for motion detected. One can specify which cameras to include in the scan, how many frames to capture from each camera, adjust and remove any switching noise artifacts, all done remotely.

These web page commands have the same meaning as the Desk Mode commands available from the Video Monitoring Software program's main menu under Settings, Monitor Mode Scanning and described previously  in the documentation.

The differences when execute from the Admin web page, are that each parameter needs to be sent separately one at a time remotely to Video Monitoring Software and the Video Monitoring Software Web Server. That is each time you want to enter one parameter you need to click "enter" after it, in order to submit it. Then submit the next parameter, and click enter again.

These parameters cannot be changed while Video Monitoring Software is already scanning. Try, Restart Program in Desk Video Mode, change the parameters, Save Configuration, then execute, Restart Program in Web Monitor Mode.

The commands are summarized below:

Enable Scanning

Causes the program to switch between enabled camera inputs when in Monitor Mode. Otherwise program just monitors one camera, the default camera.

Enable Camera

Enables the particular camera to be used in the scan, else is skipped in the scan. If all are disabled, then the default camera is automatically enabled - check status to very the parameters you thought you set.

Min Frames

The number of video frames to capture when having switched to that camera, if no motion was detected.

Max Frames

The number of video frames to capture if motion was detected on that particular camera.

Set Default Camera

When the program starts, changes modes, or starts scanning which camera to start with.

On Switch Skip Frames

If you find after reviewing the captured video files, that video was recorded but there seem to be no objects which moved, chances are there may be switching noise. Try adjusting the value of , Skip Frames on Switching, to a higher value.

Enable Show All Cameras Window

Causes Video Monitoring Software to display the All Cameras Window on the local computer, if the Video Monitoring Software program has not been set to Hide or Minimize to Icon.

Note:

If in Web Mode, and not scanning, then go to Desk Video Mode or Web Live Mode to enable scanning, then back to Web Monitor Mode for scanning to run.
